Pool Parties and Sundaes

Diving off the board. We had a huge pool party and watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. It was a scorcher at camp, but the night we had the pool party boys were turning blue from the cool night breezes. Everyone went to bed very tired and slept well.
Sundaes scout style. It was so hot I wanted to lay down in this canoe full of ice. I tried to get them to deliver it to my tent. I was thinking of homemade a/c When the cool night breezes hit the ice it would have been heaven. But this little slice of heaven was denied me. Faithful did stand in line and bring me a sundae, though. It was delicious.
I don't remember the pack number, but these are the boys we shared a campsite with and astronomy lessons. Nice kids and great adults. the only downside to our campsite was it was at the bottom of Cardiac Hill. Its a very steep hill that runs behind the dining hall. They had us traveling up and down this hill 3 and 4 times a day. I liked being on the water but I hated climbing that hill.
Knot tying. These boys are just smarter than me. I keep learning the same 2 knots over and over and then can't remember them from one time to the next. I got the square knot down. I am trying to learn the tautline and two-half hitches. Its hard to practice with the boys for scoutmaster conferences and board of reviews. They are patient with me though.
