Rainforest Romp!

What's a better way to wrap up our study of South America and the rainforest than a trek to the Rainforest Cafe. A precious friend told me about this delightful place. Thank you, Dove.

The thing to keep in mind when mounting an expedition to far away and exotic places is to have plenty of fundraising opportunties beforehand. We are blessed with a dear friend who acted as trailmaster and quietly backed our venture. The only equipment required was enthusiasm for the subject. Here, you see Beloved and Faithful toasting a successful expedition.

The rare but beautiful smile of Beloved was flashed off and on, but never for my camera. The hunt for Beloved's smile began. All parties were given a description from the local field guide. No leaf was left unturned and I even braved the heights to look from the bridge built in the canopy.

Beloved and Faithful kept an eye out for the birds of the forest and were not disappointed.

The hunt was a huge success - Beloved's smile has been found! I sprung into action as this rare and endangered species emerged from the shadows and was rewarded with the rarer picture of laughter. I quickly bagged my prize and had it mounted on the wall for all to see.

I want to thank my sweet mother, Joy for going out of her way. She had borrowed the camera for a reunion with a friend. I was disappointed when we left for the expedition without it. As an experienced guide she knew where to meet us on the trail. Her unsefish giving brought forth the treasures of the jungle. She had time for a photo op with the wildlife before disappearing down the path.
